What is KasTeauX?
KasTeauX is an annual amateur radio event during which Belgian castles & fortresses are activated on the air on 1 May.
The event combines amateur radio, outdoor activities and Belgian heritage. Radio amateurs head out to a castle or historical location, set up their radio equipment and make as many radio contacts as possible from the site.
Who is KasTeauX for?
KasTeauX is open to all licensed radio amateurs who enjoy outdoor activities and have an interest in radio and heritage.
The event is open to:
- Individual radio amateurs
- Radio clubs and associations
- Experienced activators
- Radio amateurs who want to activate a location for the first time
KasTeauX is also great for chasers, who can participate from their own shack or location by working as many participating activators as possible.
Why take part?
KasTeauX is about more than just making radio contacts. It is a great way to:
- 📻 Enjoy amateur radio in an outdoor environment
- 🏰 Promote Belgian castles and historical heritage
- 🌳 Spend a day outdoors
- 🤝 Meet and connect with other radio amateurs and clubs
- 🌍 Make contacts with radio amateurs from Belgium and around the world
Whether you head out on your own, organise an activity with your radio club, or participate from your home station, every radio amateur can take part in KasTeauX in their own way.
